Last night while watching the documentary about the Civil War that I'm about to finish, the narrator mentioned a phenomenon called Acoustic Shadows which played a part in the outcome of quite a few battles. With a bit of digging online I turned up this article that I am still plowing through. Quite interesting stuff though.
