(no subject)

It is time to buckle down and get Rhiannon started with some slightly more formal schooling. Need to buy some books for the both of us and get a few supplies. I want to stay far away from the religious curriculum but since that is what I was raised on, it is all I am really familiar with. No Bob Jones, no A Beka, and certainly no Rod and Staff (wonder if they are still around even). I also need to pick up a couple books on homeschool and early childhood education.

Rhiannon seems excited about the possibility of Goldfish snacks after she colors. For some reason she has it in her head that this is the highlight of the school day.

Hugme's mom is a kindergarten teacher, as you probably remember, if you need input I'm sure she'd be glad to help (She homeschooled for a while too I believe) :)

How old is Rhiannon now?

Rhiannon is 4, turning 5 in Feb. I'm looking into a few different things. Not really sure which method I want to use. I'm really interested in a form of unschooling, but I'll have to see how that really works out. Mostly I want to make sure that she loves learning and doesn't lose that.

Sounds good to me :)

I looked it up online. http://www.home-school.com looks like a great site, lots of info and networking.

The cobb county library system has four books on it, and when you go to the library (or website) you can order (for free) any book that is in any library system in georgia. Much cheaper than buying the books, and that way if you'd like to have them, you know in advance if they're any good.

I'm interested in the subject because if my boy and I ever have kids, he'd like them homeschooled, and I can see his point. And I'd be the one homeschooling, because he has a bigger paycheck ;)

Tell me how it goes, lots of updates :)
