I've been watching Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts lately. I'm on Disc 7 of 9 and presently enjoying the episode entitled, "A Birthday Tribute to Shostakovich." There are a few outdated remarks or jokes scattered through the programs, a comment about Sputnik, references to The Lone Ranger, that sort of thing. They're amusing. Aaron Copland has shown up live and in the flesh for a few of them. All in all they've been entertaining and educational.

Oh now that sounds like so much fun! My family basically worshipped at the altar of Bernstein. I'd love to watch them with kids, must be entertaining.
