Woohoo!

Knitting with DPN's is not nearly as hard as I feared it would be. Of course I am using fairly large DPN's (8's) and big chunky yarn but the practice bit I'm doing is really making a little cute tube (which I shall soon unravel). Yay!

I love working with DPNs... they make me look so skilled. ;)

BTW, per your earlier post about knitting a sweater... I say dive right in! If you're working from a pattern, it's easier than you'd think, and way more engaging than dull projects like scarves & squares. :) http://www.knitty.com has some amazing and easy ones...

It'll have to get in line behind a number of other things. Going to do these longies first if it kills me then I wanted to try socks and need to make some baby bibs for Christmas presents for the cousins. So maybe after that. :) Hopefully by then I'll be more confident in my skills.

I love DPNs. There's just something really satisfying about moving to the next needle and being done with what came before! I think it's so cool to see you take off with this. Sweaters are definitely doable, even early on, but baby gear is definitely going to give you more instant gratification.

oops!

That was me, as you probably figured.

I got my circular needles today and commenced working on the longies and have now had to redo it 4 times for various problems. Argh. Going to beat it though. This time I'll get it right. :)

Yeah, I'm going to do a couple pairs of longies first, one for Jack and the other for the cousin whose mother I've talked into using cloth (and is pregnant again so I'll have another baby to knit for!!!). Hopefully I'll stick with it because it's certainly useful and there are definitely things I want to be doing.
