Found an interesting site today that has oddles of gloriously creepy photos of derelict and decaying buildings. I've been lost in it and in another site all about odd corners of New York that Neil Gaiman posted in his journal earlier. I wish there were a site like this for Atlanta.

There's an excellent site about Detroit's Ruins. I'll toss these into my list.

I don't even believe I'm doing this...

But a group I once knew something about may still exist at www.bloodoftherose.com, and www.voidbox.net is another project that may be related to UE... they had some ... ties to dark passage, at one point or another.

I knew about a few more groups, at one point, but now I seem to have forgotten. I decided I'd just look at the pretty pictures instead of having my life enmeshed in so many layers of drama...

[livejournal.com profile] shrike and I watched a movie called Session 9 (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0261983), which takes place in an abandoned mental institution near Boston. It's called Danvers (http://www.danvers-state-ia.com/). The movie wasn't so great, but it was worth watching just for the scenes inside the asylum. WAY creepy. The website has lots of good pics, and a video tour.

Incidentally, he bought this movie because his mother used to work there back when it was still in use, and he has faint memories of visiting there as a child.
