Mixed day. The girls and I have colds and have been driving each other nuts for days now. We just watched the celeb fundraising thingie on tv. What is the deal with Willie Nelson? Is he just past his prime or has he always been that bad? And why on earth did they have C. Dion sing that? She isn't even a U.S. citizen. Surely they could have found someone else to do it and let her sing something else. Not really a big deal but I just found it a little odd.
Someone wrote me and told me they would sell me two 4th row balcony seats to the Tori concert for $50 because "It's been a pretty good year, so I need to give some back to the karma pool." How nifty is that? I hope it all works out. I was not happy about missing it. I would be happy happy happy. The only other Tori show I've been able to go to was the last one with Alanis and that wasn't a full show. This will only make my 3rd big concert... the Cure was the first one a few years back, then the Tori/Alanis one and then this. Yipee. I've been living under a rock... I know.
Anyway, I listened to the new cd a few more times today. Who is Joe Jackson? The Real Men cover is good. And I think Time is beautiful. The Slayer cover goes over my head and the Eminem one is too creepy (as it should be).
My keyboard is dying so typing is a pain. Off to crawl in bed and veg now.

Flipping through channels on tv I came across a woman on MTV who was talking about how the terrorists take starving children and put them in their training school and how through food they teach hate. Several 'famous' people went on to talk about how this would be the defining moment of our generation. I certainly see the impact it has made on my generation in terms of the way they feel about our country and their own sense of connection to others. I think some of the cynicism has fallen away. What would it be like if instead of destroying what little is left of Afghanistan if, while rooting out and capturing the people who did this, we came in and fed those people? If we turned the generosity we know Americans have in abundance and poured our hearts into healing the hurt that our indifference and ignorance have caused? If hate can be taught through food can't love?

'J-Lo' is about as real as Pamela Anderson's breasts.
