Tomas is at his interview. *fingers crossed* He was nervous. It was so cute. He's never nervous. His mom told me to tell him not to be cocky. hehe
Rhiannon is demanding to watch cooking shows. I've gotten her hooked on FoodTV and now she knows Julia Child's name. Greg thinks it's horrible or something. He'd rather she were into first person shooters I suppose.
Yesterday at Macy's I saw they had these snowglobes that had a little New York and a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade going around it complete with little floats. The World Trade Centers were in the middle of the globe. *sigh* I want one. It would go nicely in my small collection of snowglobes. For some reason I like them... they are full of something youthful... some kind of childhood wonder.

Tomas got the job! Yay! Not a big monetary increase but at least it is working on computers instead of a giant machine that slices plastic. He'll be working in downtown Atlanta though and that makes me a little nervous. I'm paranoid. I know. I wish he were home so we could celebrate.

I think perhaps women might be more easily categorized as a 'girlfriend' or 'hanger on' at these sort of events when there are probably more there that are actually interested in learning but they get pigeonholed as not because they are women and only taken seriously if their level of knowledge is pretty far up there. Kinda sad since these sorts of cons are supposed to be for learning and there are vast hordes of geek boys there who's sincerity isn't in question just because they are male. For instance, I don't (by any stretch of the imagination) consider myself a 'hacker' but I bet there will be more than one boy at PhreakNIC who knows less than I do about computers. My interest in them comes and goes but my interest in almost anything comes and goes. My attention span is not the greatest. So even though I might actually be just as interested in learning as the guys (or some at least) at PhreakNIC I will, no doubt, be classified as a girlfriend. Hmph.
