Jul. 20th, 2006 12:55 pmThe Cousin is over for the day. The three of them together are a force of nature few would want to reckon with. The idea of letting them make pasta from scratch occurred to me. It kept them occupied for maybe 10 minutes. I finished it all up, kneading, rolling then hand cutting. Then I boiled their portions individually.... a tangle of assorted widths for The Cousin, neat precise strips for Rhiannon and gigantic fat noodles for Isadora. I tossed theirs with a little butter and some cheese and they gulped them down. Then I started to make mine. I remembered that I had some organic cream in the fridge and my original plan for a small amount of butter sauce went out the window. A sizable splash of heavy cream, some Plugra, and a mound of fluffy parmesan later and I'm facing a plate of what looks remarkably like pasta alfredo! Opps.
