Apr. 20th, 2007 01:28 pmI'm behind on my reading for the month, I've finished off a book about Christian Dominionists (or Nationalists) which was a bit freaky to read because the church I grew up in had quite a few of 'dem types in it. Today I wrapped up 'Born to Buy' which was basically about the consumer culture in America being aimed at children. I'm going to watch Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle for the hotness and then start in on The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. I've never read any of his stuff before but thanks to recent burst of acquisition will soon have three of his books to get through. I hope I like him!
I'm putting some brioche in the oven soon. Tomorrow night we're going to a Low-country Boil fundraiser for the kid's school. The kids are going off with the cousin after we take him and my sister over to check out the Green thing going on in the park. There is supposed to be a 'Food Pavilion' set up showcasing local and organic growers, producers and chefs. Could be fun.
Today's lunch was tortilla chips and M&M's. I didn't even want them but I have a serious lack of quick easy lunches/snacks for one on hand. Perhaps after the bread is done baking I'll make a grilled cheese and some tomato soup though I'm not convinced that is much healthier than Lunch #1.
