Jun. 1st, 2007 11:49 pmToday is Tomas' birthday so while he was at work I baked him a chocolate cake. Tasted much better than it photographed.
I've been watching the various discs included with The Battle of Algiers Criterion set. They've been excellent. The first disc contained the film, the second was a series of documentaries covering the making of the movie and its influence and impact on other filmmakers and the third disc, which I am now on, is about the real life political situation on which the movie is based. It's certainly an era and area I knew nothing about really.
I managed to score about $250 worth of maternity stuff for $50 off a big sale on motherwear.com and would have bought a ton more but we're tight on surplus funds (or funds at all) this period and I probably shouldn't have bought that but the sale was so dang good. Maybe they'll have some things left on clearance after the 15th. I suspect I'm going to end up needing two seasons worth of maternity stuff thanks to Georgia's eternally long summers.
Tomas took the car into the shop Thursday to have an oil leak that was causing a smoke problem checked out. I was worried it would cost us $$$ but fortunately they think it was just a blockage that was forcing a leak and have hopefully fixed it for quite a bit less than it could have been. We also got an estimate on getting the a/c repaired and will have that done later in the month. Tomas has named the car Edward.
