Apr. 17th, 2009 12:39 pmThey took mom's chest tube out today and the xray of her chest came back fine so there was a good chance she would be going home until they took her vitals and she was running a temp and she feels horrible. The chemo is probably kicking in but the temp is worrying. She sounds awful and it breaks my heart. I know we have a lot more of this ahead of us.
Isadora has 'Saturday school' tomorrow and Tomas and I are going to shop for groceries for mom and granny so they can come home to a stocked kitchen and pantry. I'll also go make a big pot of my mom's favorite ginger/spinach/chicken soup. She's going to feel so much better once she gets home to her own stuff and her dogs. She's been in the hospital for two weeks now.
I finally got myself new cordless phones. Our old ones died last year and I've been using this dreadful cheap corded phone that makes me have to come running into my bedroom anytime the phone rings. We only have one phone outlet so I can't move it anywhere. Anyway, now I have a nice new set of modern cordless phones. Whee. Doesn't take much to brighten my days lately.
