(no subject)

Okay all you fitness-y types! So my present course is to do about 20-30 minutes of exercise a day that is fairly hard for me, a good walk once a day (I think it's around a mile), a one and a half hour ballet class once a week, and one day (the day after the ballet class) where I only stretch and do some crunches (my legs said No! to me this morning when I tried to do more). I'm going to reduce my meal portions, add more snacks of fruit, and apply some moderate guilt by weighing in the mornings. I plan on upping the amount of exercise as I feel like my body can handle it. Think this will work?

I don't want to be rail thin, I just want to be able to fit into a wider range of clothes and I want to be able to dance again. With my family history of heart problems I think it's probably important to tackle this issue now and not wait till I'm 50. But there's just no fuckin' way I am "dieting". Take my pecan pie from me and there will be pain. Yes, I can eat a smaller slice and reduce the amount of whipped cream on top of it to a portion which is less than equal to the pie slice, but I am not giving up eating the things I enjoy no more than I would go blind to have better skin.

All of those things should work. Build up the exercise slightly as you go on...you do want to strain yourself some. Crunches shouldn't really being putting that much strain on your legs, though.

No, it was the attempt at ballet bits from last night that the legs complained about which is what sent me back to crunches and stretching. :) Yup, there's some straining going on.

hell yes, this will work.

more exercize and less food will definitely help reduce weight!

dave and i exercize and eat a fair bit, and are maintaining a healthy weight (er, you know, when i'm not pregnant).

I hope so. I was getting a bit discouraged reading pages that made it sound like I had to go on some sort of carrot and celery diet or do the Atkins thing and I'm just not going to make it down either path.

And you're maintaining a healthy pregnant weight!
