Nov. 11th, 2004 02:24 pmOkay all you fitness-y types! So my present course is to do about 20-30 minutes of exercise a day that is fairly hard for me, a good walk once a day (I think it's around a mile), a one and a half hour ballet class once a week, and one day (the day after the ballet class) where I only stretch and do some crunches (my legs said No! to me this morning when I tried to do more). I'm going to reduce my meal portions, add more snacks of fruit, and apply some moderate guilt by weighing in the mornings. I plan on upping the amount of exercise as I feel like my body can handle it. Think this will work?
I don't want to be rail thin, I just want to be able to fit into a wider range of clothes and I want to be able to dance again. With my family history of heart problems I think it's probably important to tackle this issue now and not wait till I'm 50. But there's just no fuckin' way I am "dieting". Take my pecan pie from me and there will be pain. Yes, I can eat a smaller slice and reduce the amount of whipped cream on top of it to a portion which is less than equal to the pie slice, but I am not giving up eating the things I enjoy no more than I would go blind to have better skin.
