danuvJack is still sick. Thankfully he waited till we were on the way home from my dad's and did not throw up all over his mid-century modern rug and sofa. He threw up once in his sleep and didn't even wake up. I feel so horrible for him. I'm pushing fluids as much as I can but still a little worried he's going to end up in the hospital.
I came home from dad's with giant boxes of my grandmother's things. I am now surrounded by her Christmas decorations, her 1960's-70's Pyrex bowls and her flatware. Dad also gave me an opal and diamond ring that was hers and the only thing she ever crocheted, a white shawl that he said was boxed up in her closet next to the dress she wore to his wedding (in '72). I also have several pieces of their cast iron. It's all pretty strange... but good in a weird way.
Mom called this morning to ask me to make sure I take lots of pictures of her with her grandkids because she wants them to have plenty of pictures of themselves with her in them "later".
Anyway, my house is a mess and I have a sick kid and a huge turkey meal to cook for tonight. I also woke up with a strained muscle in my back/neck but Christmas is important to me and for my kids so I'm going to shake this stress and upset off and make this day a good one.
