danuvIsadora's friend Alder has been passing down bagfuls of clothing over the past year or so. Up until this week Isadora has crammed them all in various places from her floor to her closet and picked up whatever stained yucky thing she could grab or was fond of that month. Monday I started cleaning and organizing, yesterday I spent a couple of hours matching skorts/shorts/leggings with appropriate tops/dresses and hanging them together in her closet. She's up to 43 warm weather ensembles with another 7-8 pairs of jeans and black leggings in her drawers for wearing with tshirts. 43. There are another 6 kitchen garbage can bags full of "winter" clothes. Jack has three or four bags of 3t-4t clothes waiting should he ever actually grow.
Rhiannon on the other hand grew boobs and about a foot and a half over the summer and packed on a bit of pudge since its been a fairly lazy couple of months and has -nothing- to wear. I've put out the call to my sister to see what she has lurking in her closet since they are probably getting close to the same height and we'll have to pick up a few things for her. She wants skirts that look "professional". hah She'd probably love it if middle school had uniforms.
They both start back on the 9th. Summer is so short now. It's really pretty sad.
We haven't really done a lot this year, spent some time at the lake, gone to the cabin, but they haven't sat in front of the tv or computer much either. Rhiannon has spent a good but of time reading and working on her anime drawing and Isadora has pretty much been adopted by Alder's family and been caught up in their whirl of summer activities.
I'll miss having them around when they go back to school but it'll be a lot easier to keep the house clean with only one force of destruction home. I really need to get a zoo pass when the weather cools off a bit so I can take Jack down there. He hasn't been since he was a tiny baby which is sad since its like three blocks away. Maybe we'll get a pass to the children's museum too.
