Lesson number two learned on vacation: Do not take toddlers on boat rides where they will be trapped for an hour and a half especially not when they are tired.
We are having a wonderful time. Here is a quick rundown so far:
Saturday morning we drove down. It went better than expected. We stopped in Savannah briefly then made our way on down to St. Simon's. Our cottage is a little older than I thought it would be but it has grown on me mainly due to the back porch which looks right out onto the ocean and is a wonderful relaxing place to sit in the evening. Sunday we played on the beach some and drove around the island. That night we went for a walk on the beach as the sun was setting. Isadora fell asleep riding on my shoulders. It was so very sweet. Monday we went to a neighboring island that had better sea shells. The girls had a blast running all over the place and Rhiannon keeps trying to "cween" up the sand off the beach. This consists of her scooping sand with her shovel from various locations on the beach and putting them in her bucket. We had to make her stop at one point when we were leaving and carried her off screaming "Cween! CWEENING!" She is such a nut. After the beach we went on a dolphin tour where Rhiannon ended up pitching a fit for the last 45 mins. Joy. Today I think we are going to see some of the historical things around here.
Today is also mine and Tomas's 8th wedding anniversary. Truly amazing. :)
Anyway, having a delightful time. I'll have a lot of entries to catch up on when I get home. I hope you are all doing well.
