Up early again because Rhiannon woke up. We have to fix this. Tomas moves back to a night shift again next week... 4pm-1am. I don't really mind it but things will not be pretty if Rhiannon keeps waking up at 9am.
Saturday was not a good day. We looked at the bank account. Tomas called and cancelled our hotel room for the con. So that means no time away from my beautiful babies who I adore but desperately need a weekend away from. We were going to split them up and send Rhiannon to my mom's and Isadora to Tomas's mom but my mother won't keep Rhiannon if we are anywhere close because Rhiannon doesn't go to sleep well at night and when she cries my mother brings her back instead of roughing it out.
Tomas turned in his 401K papers this morning so depending on how that goes we should get some extra cash with which he promises to take me off for the weekend. Maybe Asheville, N.C.? I've never been to the Biltmore house and I would like to see it dandied up for Christmas. I'm trying not to hope too much. I hope we do get a good chunk back so we can have some for Christmas presents. With both of our moms being jobless this year it ought to make for an interesting time. Not that I want them to buy me or the kids things (god knows the kids have enough junk) but it would be fun to be able to splurge and buy them all some fun things.
Greg started talking about how we needed a HDTV so he could play his new video games on it which got me thinking about it. Yesterday we went by Best Buy and looked at them. *sigh* They are things of wonder. Sometimes I live too much like a bachelor geek boy buying fancy new computers and dvd players before basic things like a sofa to sit on or a kitchen table to eat at. But new tvs are so much more fun. And you can always sit on the floor. :)
Yesterday was a bit more fun than Saturday. We went out looking for costumes for the girls. Rhiannon decided she had to be Blue's Clues and after seeing how much the thing cost ($30) I decided this was the last year we would be buying character costumes. Then we went to Old Navy. Ah, glorious place. I despise (DESPISE) the commercials for this store and went for years without ever going in there because I hated them so much but they have some adorable things for kids and the Halloween stuff was on super clearance. They had a pile of baby costumes marked down to $9 that were so much better made than Rhiannon's $30 B.C.'s one. For Isadora we picked up this furry green monster suit. Her little pot belly fills it out nicely and she looks like a green teddy bear/Ewok. She's so cute in it. They also had glow in the dark boxers with little ghosts and skeletons on them for $3 and dog costumes for $4 (we got Othello a Dracula one). The girls also got little hats, a ghost one and a monster one, for $1.99. Yay. It was fun.
Last night was Band of Brothers on HBO. It's one of the best things I have ever watched on tv. Next week is the last episode. Whaa.
