I realized this morning, as I sat down with a bowl of cheese grits, that my diet has been awful lately. It's been either copious amounts of Southern food or eating next to nothing while recovering from my copious amounts of Southern food.

Tomas and I watched On the Waterfront last night. Honestly, I wasn't particularly fond of it. It was alright, just not nearly as good as I was expecting. I suppose that is the danger of hearing so much about a movie, though I wasn't disappointed by Lawrence of Arabia.

Larry of Arabia is an awesome movie and the music is fantastic. Acting is superb.

OTWF is good....but the standards then for acting and directing and production were different than what they are now....the quality is there...just different from what we see now, for the most part.

Oh, I know that it was well done. It just didn't really strike an emotional chord with me. There are plenty of old movies that I adore. For instance, Baby Doll, that I talked about earlier in the week... another Elia Kazan movie, it totally tickles my fancy.

So.............. my boy and I are considering getting netflix... do you still use it? Do you have any tips or suggestions we should know before signing up? And..... exactly how long do you get to keep a movie? It says no due dates, but you couldn't keep one for a year could you?

Now that I've pumped you for information... how are you? :)

Love love love Netflix. We've used it for years and years now. Yes, as long as you are a Netflix member, you can keep if for a year. There really are no due dates. We get to keep 8 movies out at once (I think we pay $35ish-$40 or so a month, can't quite remember) which is their most expensive plan, or was last time I checked. You keep a list of the movies you want to rent, when you get done with one, send it back and they mail you the next in the list. They have an office in Duluth or something so the turnaround is pretty quick. I've rarely had any issues with them. Sometimes movies go missing on one end of the other, I report it and they send me either another copy or the next movie in my list.
We've really enjoyed their service. Any other questions about it?

I'm good! We're going to the cabin with my brother, sister, her baby, my mother and her dog as well as my two wee's. Should either be a lot of fun or a freaking nightmare. ;)

Thanks for the recommendation :) We just get an urge to buy a dvd every weekend, and it'd be a lot cheaper and make us happier if we could spend the price of a dvd and get Lots whenever we want :)

Good luck with the family! I'm sure it will prove to be interesting ;)
