Jul. 5th, 2001 03:57 pmHot hot hot. Need to move to Alaska. Rhiannon didn't really get to see the fireworks last night. We were carless so we couldn't take them anywhere. There were some in the neighborhood but since we are at the bottom of a hill and surrounded by huge trees we could only see some through branches. She kept saying "works" "funny". Next year we will go somewhere to see them. Right now we are having 'art time' and Rhiannon is drawing "sircwles" on her paper. Isadora chewed on the crayon for a while then went to find more interesting things to do. I managed to get her to make (completely unintentionally on her part) a few blue streaks on her paper.
Not a whole lot going on this week. The car is in the shop so that we can get it to pass inspection and get our tag renewed (which is late). I'm reading The Magus by John Fowles and The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller right now. The Magus is very different from what I expected but I am enjoying it and have had quite a few 'wow' moments where he said something cool.
Tomas's mom is going to Italy on Saturday. I asked her to smuggle some parmesano regiano (sp?) for me but that's not likely to happen. Tomas asked for a Ferrari. My mom got to go to the beach this week. I am so jealous. I'm not a big sun person but every few years I like to go to the beach. There is just nothing like going to sleep with the sound of the waves out your window. I also need to go up to the mountains soon so I can hit some antique stores in search of old hats and Strawberry Shortcake dolls.
Speaking of.... I put all the stuff I didn't get sold on Ebay last week in one big lot and it's doing fairly well. Looks like I'll be able to get that waist cincher after all as long as I can resist the urge to buy more SSC stuff between now and then. I am so bad.
Oh yeah I remember something else I did this week... my hair is all a mess. I ran out of bleach and haven't been out to get more yet so I have pink/black/half bleached mess hair. It's really attractive I tell ya. I think I'll start a new look... call it the white trash gawth look... oh I guess someone already started that.
