I am trying to watch this very interesting one hour documentary about Robert Rauschenberg. It will probably take me around three hours to get through because I keep getting sidetracked. For instance, the documentary mentioned a performance art piece that he did as part of a larger group in which Frank Stella and another woman played a game of tennis with rackets which were wired for sound. Every time someone hit the ball a gong would sound and a light would go out. This brief mention in the documentary led me to look up Frank Stella because his name was familiar from my visit to the museum here this past weekend but he isn't someone I know a lot about. Then I started wondering about the Man Ray piece I'd seen there and if I could find more information out about it (I haven't yet) which led me to this amazing page that I may or may not have seen before and completely forgotten. Then I realized that the documentary had mentioned that this tennis match performance was held at 'The Armory' and I wondered if it was the same Armory that held the big major important modern art show back in 1913 (I think it is but am not certain yet). So um yeah, that's why it takes me so long to finish these things, but it makes for an entertaining morning!

As I was getting Isadora out of the tub tonight she demanded that her towel have no holes in it so I held it up for her to inspect. She looked at its hole free surface suspiciously and asked, "But what about the other side?".
