danuvI've been feeling out of sorts and anxious lately beyond my usual level of out of sorts and anxious. It made me curious about the meds the doctor put me on for my ear and sure enough between the two of them I have 'depression' 'anxiety' and 'fear' covered in the side effects. Delightful. Another 6 days. The ear does seem to be clearing up or out.
I've started reading a Modigliani bio. That's sure to cheer me up and put my mind at ease! I need to wrap up the fluffy Surrealist book so I can go back through some of my older books and start plugging things into my pretty Tinderbox picture. Then it's back into Man Ray. I'm really happy with the way my Tinderbox thingie is shaping up though. It's going to take me a while to figure out exactly what I want to do with it but already it's amusing the heck out of me. I added boxes inside of Man Ray and Duchamp for their objects and each object or artwork has its own file of information where I can tuck pictures, text or links. I made a set of boxes to represent relationships so that inside of various people I can have files pertaining to specific relationships. For instance I have a relationship box (which are black) inside of Man Ray's person box (which are red) called 'Man Ray and Duchamp' which has text about their friendship and various projects they worked on together.
I'm having some trouble deciding how to group things. Right now I have large colored squares that I group various people in. There are blocks for Surrealism, Dada and Art Nouveau with overlaps so that people who fall into two groups can be placed in them both. However I have large gaggles of folks who don't fit into either, like Picasso for example. I have no idea how to classify him or most of his peers. Maybe I'll just have the large blocks for those who will fit into them and then float the others in groups of related people on the outsides. I'd like a Cubism block but you can't leave Picasso hanging out just there. Grrr. And Duchamp flirted with that a little himself but certainly wasn't a Cubist. Frustrating. I'll eventually figure something out.
