In my ongoing quest to make foods I've never had before tonight I tackled larb pulling from the collective wisdom of the eGulleteers and the awesome Larb Laab Larp, the Thread. I have no idea if what I made actually tasted like larb is supposed to but it seemed to bear at least some resemblance to the versions people posted in the thread so I have hope. The children gobbled it up and Rhiannon requested I send some with her tomorrow for her school lunch. Behold the larb:

it was a bit scary but it tasted pretty good! It's pork poached in a little chicken stock, kafir lime leaves, garlic, shallots, lime juice, fish sauce, peppers, a bit of mint, cilantro, basil, green onions and maybe something else I can't remember. Oh yeah! Toasted ground up rice.
