Completely (almost) unrelated baby factoid: The more expensive the cloth diaper the quicker Jack will poo in it and the more bountiful said poo will be. Prefolds will go unpoo'ed for hours but the moment the gorgeous softness of a $33 Goodmama diaper hits his arse .... Well at least the boy has good taste.

Date: 2008-02-11 07:14 pm (UTC)Not to totally overwhelm you with links or anything... but www.diaperpin.com/diapers/ has reviews of various diapers and diaper companies and http://www.diaperswappers.com/ has been an invaluable resource for me to learn about cloth diapers and to buy second hand.
We're using a combination of prefolds from http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/diapers.htm where they also sell unbleached prefolds, these: http://www.kissaluvs.com/fitted-diapers.html and a couple of newborn sized Mutts http://muttaqinbaby.com/diapers.html which I love and would have gotten more of if they'd been easier to come by.
The plan is to transition to Goodmama one size diapers (http://www.thegoodmama.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=71_80 ) which are made with the softest squishiest organic velor you can imagine and should last us till potty training and also prefolds because they are cheap and easy. I may pick up some one size Mutts too. We're loving wool though, used as covers over the fitted diapers and prefolds. For the winter we're using knitted pants that diaper people call longies and I'm starting to pick up some trimmer covers that can go under clothes. It's just so much nicer than the 'plastic pant' type covers.
Sorry for the info flood. :)
