danuvWe went to the Buford Hwy Farmer's Market again today which is a large international store on the other side of town(ish). I got a nice assortment of Mexican, Thai, Japanese and Chinese foods (and I think a Vietnamese sauce) including some sushi grade tuna that I'm making for dinner tonight. I didn't find any kafir lime leaves though and when Tomas asked about them he was told they were now illegal to import. I'm going to have to do some research on that one.
When we got home Tomas sat Jack down on the porch and went to open the door. He was barefoot and Tomas sat him down on the part of the wood that the sun had been shining on. I was down the stairs at the car and heard Jack start crying and thought he was angry at Tomas but as I walked up the stairs realized he was in pain and by the time I could get to him he was hysterical. The wood was hot and burned the bottom of one of his feet. He has a pretty large blister on it. Had it been pavement Tomas wouldn't have sat him down but he didn't even think about the wood being hot enough to do that. He screamed for two hours before I got him calmed down. It's not burned through his blister so I think it will be ok, Tomas is calling his pediatrician. I feel so horrible for him. I gave him tylenol and put some sunburn cream that has painkiller on it and sprayed it with a bad germ killin' spray that my brain is too non functional to remember the name of. The girl's solution to his trauma is to feed him every chocolate flavored thing they can find. He isn't objecting to that.
