Dec. 29th, 2004 11:04 amIt's tricky for me not to let a glum mood overtake everything. Separate what is causing the bad feelings from everything else and isolate it to just that. Not easy. I wish it were as easy to get oneself into a good mood as it is to swing the other way. There has to be some way. I'm replacing 'if we can put a man on the moon' with 'if I can lose weight' lately. Now I just need to lift the shades and brighten the hues. Let go of the cares and concerns that really are fairly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things and focus on what is good and right. Get off my ass and stop feeling sorry for myself and make positive (if tiny) changes. Do the dishes. Clean up my room. Move. Stop sinking. Change what I have the power to change and deal with what I can't.

I am so there with you. I haven't dropped this low in a long time. It wasn't all too long ago that I couldn't fathom what it was like to be depressed, or even fathom how others could get that way. and now, I teeter on the edge, knowing if I fall I may not get back up again. its scary. I try revel in the little things that make me happy. I have a wicker basket filled with froofy yarn to make things with. I blow off my chorse to sit and create... but that creating brings at least just a small bit of happiness.
focus on small treasures and build from there.
oh. and tea. yup. everything is better with a good cup o' tea!

Ooo, tea. I haven't had any tea in a good long while. I should make some!
