Jan. 9th, 2006 10:27 amSo I'm thinking yoga might be a good thing for me to learn. I know I have several yoga types here, are there any beginners videos you guys recommend? Is trying to learn at home on my own a bad idea? There's just no way I'm getting out to a class around here.

Date: 2006-01-20 05:01 pm (UTC)The book is particularly awesome because it has a very specific practice for each day (6 days a week, for 8 weeks.) Each week focuses on a different kind of pose. It's got amazing photos and very detailled descriptions to help you get a feel for what your body should be doing.

Date: 2006-01-30 03:47 am (UTC)I'd say follow his instructions carefully, but if something causes pain or puts undue pressure on a joint, to experiment with props (blankets, blocks, etc.) until it eases the pressure. Also, if there's anything I can do to help, that's what I'm here for!
